Concept of Printing is one of the oldest and traditional way of expressing your thoughts and get it inked. Traditionally it was writing, which slowly and steadily converted into Digital Era. But, people still love to see their thoughts on Paper.

InkJet / DeskJet Printers: 

A Printer where you need to install the Ink Cartridge which cost you hefty amounts and have become obsolete these days. Ink Cartridges are costly on one hand but, useful for people who wants to print limited qty. At-least 1-2 Prints on alternate days, won't let the Cartridges Dry. Max to Max Rs 3- 5 per print will be cost on these Printers.

e.g.: Hp Ink Advantage Printers with Cartridge No 680 which comes in Budget of 500 and give 480 Black Prints.

The Page Yield is measured on 5% Coverage of A4 Paper which no body does. Average use of A4 Sheet is 15-20% Paper Coverage. So, whenever someone says- 480, divide it by 3 or 4 to get your actual usage.

There are InkJet Printers that will cost you hardly Rs 1500- Simple InkJet Printer.

And there are multi function Printers, which cost you Approx 2200-2500 which have Print, Scan and PhotoCopy features, e.g.: Canon MF2570s

One of the successful models running successfully till date, due to cheap pricing on Printer but hefty on Printing cost.

Cost of Ink Cartridge in these Printers are very expensive: Black Approx 450 + GST  & Colour around 550

Prints will be limited to 100pgs per ink. 

Suitable to Kids or Home users, who prints hardly 1 or 2 prints in a week. 

Though there are Ink Efficient Printers also available:

e.g.: Canon E410, E470, E3170, E3370, E4270, Hp 2676, Hp 3835, Hp 3676, etc

These Printers are good in page yielding and cartridge cost is also competitive. Approx Rs 500 per Black or Colour Cartridge. And it gives almost 400 Black Pages and 180- 300 Colour Pages.

**5% Page Coverage

Wireless Technology are also available in these models. Many are way cheaper, but few seems costly due to extra loaded features in them.

PIXMA E560: Print, Scan, Copy, Wireless, but No Direct Wi-Fi. This is one printer, which is highly ink efficient. It gives 800pgs in black and 300pgs in colour. Ink Prices are also not costly.

Pixma E3370 is also one great example. It has Print, Scan, Copy, Wireless + Direct Wi-Fi option. Cartridge is also cheap and gives 400pgs in Black and 180 pgs in Colour.

Canon is one Brand who is still investing big bucks and developing new models every year in InkJet Technology. Reason could be simple, there are buyers who are looking to spend less amount- being less prints. Ink Efficient Printers are developed due to that reason only. 

Comparing with Sales of MG Series, where normal Printers are costly in terms of Print outs are too high. MG Series Printers are low budget printers and range starts from Rs 1300.00 for Single Function Printer and Rs 2200.00 for Multi Function Printers e.g.: MG2570s

Hp has given up on making new models, Epson & Brother have altogether changed their Technologies from Ink Cartridge to Ink Tank Printers. New and Gen Nxt Models. 

E-Commerce Portals are also playing very important role in selling these printers. They have given a lot of competition for local market sellers.
